Course Overview

The Exercise to Music course is a foundational course designed to inspire those interested in inspiring and motivating individuals in a group setting in achieving their fitness goals. 


The course will equip you in teaching group fitness classes, offering participants a sense of community, accountability and the opportunity to achieve their health and wellness goals while having fun.  


This comprehensive program covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching an exercise to music class. It’s designed to equip with skills to provide fitness instructions and supervision through safe and effective exercises in a fun filled environment. 

Course Objectives

  1. Understand the why of Exercise to Music and its role in promoting global health and wellness.

 

  1. Gain deep insight in who is a group fitness instructor and the qualities required to become one.

 

  1. Acquire knowledge on the use of music in teaching a class with focus on impact, choice and tempo.

 

  1. Learn choreography meaning and types- understanding base moves. Gain insight into elements of variation in Exercise to Music, the use of beats and phrase in class design.

 

5. Learn how to plan and design an safe and effective Exercise to Music class including goal setting for the class, guidelines for teaching and pitfalls an instructor should avoid. 


6. How to design an effective program for the various components of physical fitness with the use of Music.


7. Be aware of class adaptations for special populations.


8. Gain understanding of health and safety in a group class setting – factors to consider when planning sessions.
